We experienced seven beautiful sunsets and seven eye-opening sunrises during our week-long stay at Whispering Pines Retreat. We came to celebrate my husband’s 53rd birthday along with our 31st wedding anniversary, and we truly found a home away from home. Between hiking the trails, discovering the spring-fed pool and waterfall, relaxing in the hammock or hot tub, enjoying meals and games at the beautiful farm table, and drinking more coffee than two people probably should in a week… I honestly can’t pick a favorite. We allowed ourselves to fully relax, unwind, and reset—never checking the time and forgetting what day it was. Thank you for all the special touches and the little things that mean so much. David and Theresa, you’ve taken the talents God has blessed you with and graciously shared them with others. We are blessed to call you friends. Thank you for a truly serendipitous week. P.S. It was husband’s 40th and my kids spring break and we wanted a place to connect with each other and be outside. David & Theresa’s slice of heaven provided us more than what we wanted. Watching my kids fish off the dock and reel in fish after fish was so enjoyable. We even had a lunchtime fish fry. Walking the nature trails and taking the side by side was a must. The property is so peaceful. The cabin was spotless and very intentional, having exactly what we needed. Awesome coffee bar with so many options and a full kitchen to make you feel right at home. My husband and I definitely want to go back. Thank you for sharing your place with us and being so helpful anytime I messaged you. My only regret is not booking a longer trip! I personally loved all the non toxic choices for cleaning products and the way you care for your home. Also having the high chair and playpen already set up for us was very kind and helpful.

Spent 3 nights here and it was the perfect getaway for our family. We were able to fish, hike and run around to our hearts desire while never hearing or seeing another person. We were already talking about when we can come back before we made it out of the gate!

Our expectations were far exceeded by our stay at Whispering Pines! It was a much needed retreat from the city and our 3 kids enjoyed it so much. They loved feeding the fish in the pond, relaxing in the hot tub, making smores and going on rides through the property (definitely recommend renting the ranger!). We’ve been duped before by Air Bnb pictures and were so pleased that the house was so nice and comfortable for our stay. We loved the nearby drive-thru safari and restaurants and coffee shops in Jacksonville. We will definitely be back and would recommend all of our friends to stay here at Whispering Pines!

We just spent four days at Whispering Pines Retreat, and I can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing getaways we’ve had in a long time. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to slow down and enjoy the outdoors, this is it. We spent our days hiking the trails, doing a little fishing, and riding bikes around the property. In the evenings we’d soak in the hot tub under the stars and end the night around the campfire making s’mores. It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time in the best way. One thing we really loved was the gourmet coffee bar. They’ve got all kinds of different ways to make a good cup of coffee, and sitting out in the quiet with a fresh cup in the morning was hard to beat. You can tell a lot of care went into making this place special. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and a great spot to reconnect and make some good memories. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

If only there were more stars to give! There is nothing you will not love about this place. Every detail had so much thought and love put into it by David & Theresa. The drive up for the first time is simply breathtaking and only the beginning of a wonderful stay. Every view is beautiful and peaceful. The house is perfectly cozy, homey, sparkling clean and inviting. Love the natural, simplistic decor. All the furnishings are sturdy and thoughtfully chosen. The kitchen is stocked well with very nice dishes and utensils and everything extra. All the beds and linens were exceptionally comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor shower and hot tub as well! We will be back and look forward to many more stays in this perfect little haven.

We had such an excellent trip! It’s hard to summarize it ALL but here’s a few: -Beautiful pond with fish that come up to the dock - Renting the Polaris is a must for exploring all the acreage - Comfy beds (one former- one softer in bedrooms- much appreciated!) - Spotless interior.. so clean! - Adorable decor - Popcorn maker plus smores - Clean, well maintained hot tub - Plenty of games, tackle box, spices, coffee- we didn’t need anything. They thought of it all - Cozy fire pit - Fresh honey! - Fast communication - Sound machines were a nice added touch! Thanks for sharing your little paradise with us!

Perfect place to get away. It was perfect. the weather, the scenery. There was nothing I needed that they didn't have. Lovely home nice and clean place is as exactly as the photos. I will definitely be going back more than once.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The property was beautiful, the home was fantastic, tons of amenities and the kids loved it. This was the perfect definition of what every airbnb should be. The home had everything you need at a stay away from home and the kitchen was impressively stocked including every type of normal spice, oils, multiple coffees, sugar/stevia, cream, nice tablewares, and every pot/pan ranging from nonstick to cast iron. In fact, we did not have to leave the home at any point to go get something menial or have to message the owners about not having enough of something. Would definitely recommend if you are someone just looking for a peaceful stay with a ton of outdoor space and activities.
